On Saturday, 26th October, Stanley Gibbons Baldwin’s hosted the Elite Pokémon 100 Auction, featuring 100 lots of Pokémon TCG items from the first four generations, including over 50 complete master sets.
As anticipated, a Skyridge Master Set in mint condition stole the show, selling for £24,000 after fees. Head of SGB’s TCG department, Roy Raftery, said of the sale:
“(The Skyridge Master Set) never fails to sell, but this is one of the highest amounts I have seen this set sell for at an auction. This was the most viewed set from the auction, and arguably the best-conditioned set I have seen; nearly every card was in mint condition, including the coveted Crystal Pokémon, which have been increasing in price.”
Other items that performed exceptionally well included a complete Aquapolis Master Set, which sold for £7,200 including fees, and a near-complete EX Team Rocket Returns Master Set, which sold for £6,600 including fees.
